OverDesign

“I am contemporary, I was re-thinked.”

Overdesign is a topic commonly discussed in product design, construction, in the discipline of civil engineering, but it is less talked about in architectural discourse. Nevertheless, overdesigns exist greatly in the world of architecture today, where there is never a lack of ideas and innovation. Through this series of interior and transitory spaces, this project aims to expose and explore some of the paradigms of contemporary overdesign.

This surreal 3D warehouse is embedded with instances of strange design and exaggerated details. The series of spaces carry unnecessary conditions that complicate and dilute their original purpose, and they assemble to define and critique the concept of "over-design" in architecture. The hurried visitor explores through the miscellany of unfitting components and needless nuances that are each metaphorical echoes of the contradictions of design that we experience in reality.
